Old controller with only RS232 needs USB-RS232 converter.
Use Märzhauser SwitchBoard to troubleshoot connection – e.g. that the baud rate should be 57600
From there it was easy to connect.
The Olympus BX-51 focus knob has a movement of 0.1mm/rev.
We set this up by setting the gear to 10x.
